Kilwa was settled in the 1200s by a “sultan” who arrived in Azania with a fleet of 7 ships and his family that included 7 sons. He established the city state of Kilwa which thrived until the 1400s on trade and victualling ships of all nations that visited this rich and famous harbour.
Persia, now Iran and parts of Iraq, has had an influence through trade, especially in valuable porcelain and the famous “Persian green” glazed bowls.
The royal colours of Persia were enamelled blues and greens and have been used here for the tiling and soft furnishings. This bungalow is a suite and overlooks the natural valley leading to the swimming pool and our private beach. It has unimpeded view eastwards to the sea and Chole Island.
